BQ24157: How to configure the charging voltage of 4.35 for mass production

Part Number: BQ24157

dear sir

    • I am currently using BQ24175,Facing mass production problems,The  charge-voltage  register is configured as 4.35 when power up,

      • When assembling, insert the battery,On power, BQ24175 will reply to the default parameter setting, so l want to know How to configure the charging voltage of 4.35 for mass production?

waiting for your answer                                     best wishes

  • Hey du,

The BQ24157 is an I2C controlled charger. The register settings will only remain if there is no POR to the charger and if the battery is not removed. In general, because this charger requires I2C communications to be programmed, you should already by using a host controller. This host controller should reset the charging voltage back to 4.35V when the battery is applied.

If the battery is not present, the battery detection will flag that a battery is absent and reset the charge parameters. This is stated in section 9.4.2.4 Battery Detection in Host Mode of the datasheet.

If you would like to retain the charging voltage during your mass production, I suggest your configure the voltage settings AFTER the battery is attached, instead of the other way around.

Again, if there is any POR to the charger or any Battery Removal/Absent, these registers will reset.

    Regards,
