TLC59581: 74HCT245 (Bi-Directional Buffer) Application in TIDA-00161

Dear TI experts,

I would like to ask the application of the buffer in 64 x 64 LED display. I initially thought that it is for bi directional signal to be sent and received between controller and the driver, but it turns out not to be the case, since the buffer is set to be in one direction only (OE and DIR are tied to ground). Is the buffer used to provide better voltage level and driving current to the driver ? Looking forward to hearing your reply, thank you.

    Hi Reno,

    The buffer is used for the signal connected as daisy chain, since there are some loss on the wire with long transmission, also two many branches will slow down the signal edge, which may cause the undesired reorganization by the device.
    If the cascaded device are not too many, it will not be required.
