TPS659037: Revision G history

Part Number: TPS659037

Hello all,

Revision G of TPS659037 is released and description of silicon IDs are added.

Device name of TPS659037 has one. It means there aren't TPS659037A, TPS659037B and TPS659037x.

But silicon ID has four. I think that silicon ID 1.0, 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 are ES. ES1.4 is first MP revision. Correct?

How can we confirm silicon ID without reading silicon ID resistor?

I found two words as "rapid" and "rapidly". But I'm not sure that.

Please tell me the reference numerical value.

Do you have any

Best Regards.,

  • Iwasaki-san,

Hi, thanks for your question. The TPS659037 is currently using silicon revision 1.3. This is not noted in the part number. It is noted on the top side marking. However, we are transitioning to silicon revision 1.4 shortly. This transition will not change the part number or top side marking. The only way to read the silicon revision is to read the DESIGNREV register.

Please let me know if this answers your question.

    Thanks!

  • Hello Nastasha,

Thank you for replying. Our TPS659037EVM on the top side marking is "ES". What is the top side marking of silicon revision 1.3?
What's the difference marking b/w top side marking revision 1.3 and 1.4?
Whats's difference b/w order number silicon revision 1.3 and 1.4?
My understanding is that when silicon number is changed, order number is changed.

    Best Regards.,
    Mitsuharu Iwasaki
  • Iwasaki-san,

Please see the Packaging section of the datasheet to find the top side marking of the device you are using. Silicon revision 1.3 and 1.4 will have the same top side marking, since the silicon change is very minor. There is also no change in orderable part number.

    Thanks,
    Nastasha
  • Hello Nastasha,

Thank you for replying. I couldn't find the top marking specification in the datasheet.
TPS659037EVM we have is marked as PTPS659037 ES1.3. How is Silicon 1.3 marked?
You mentioned silicon 1.4 is minor change. Is it metal wiring changed? or
Is active layer changed( all mask change)?

    Best Regards.,
    Mitsuharu Iwasaki
  • Iwasaki-san,

The top side marking is in the orderable table of the datasheet. Silicon 1.4 has a metal routing change only. Tops side marking and part number will not be affected. Please let me know if you have additional questions.

    Thanks,
    Nastasha
