BQ25713EVM-017: powering eval kit with 1S2P pack

Part Number: BQ25713EVM-017

What is the recommendation in configuring this eval kit where it is powered only by a 1S2P battery with a range of (4.2 to 2.5V) and want to boost the vsys rail to 3.4V when the battery goes below a threshold of 3.4V?

Thanks,

Brian

  • Brian,

Can you advise more detail about your testing conditions?

    1. what is your input voltage? is it 5V?

    2. what's meaning of boost? DO you want to enable OTG?

    3. For battery mode only, please make sure your battery voltage is above UVLO number. see below table for detail.

    Thanks

  • A few items that i think help clear up what they are looking to do with this part:

    1. I want Vsys to be boosted when the IC is powered only by the battery when voltage drops below 3.4V.
    2. In our normal use case the charger IC is only powered by the battery (yes I want the EVM to be powered only the battery).
    3. The battery operating range is 2.55V to 4.2V

    Does Vsys work like that?

    Thanks,
    Brian
  • Brian,
    My response for your questions.

    1. During battery mode, you can't boost Vsys voltage higher than battery voltage.
    2. You can request TI EVM board via website.
    3. Yes if your battery is 1S2P. This part can support up to 4S battery.

    Thanks
