how does the BQ25898C regulate the charger current？

can it regulate charger current by hardware？

No, The default charge current is set to 0 mA (both fast charge and precharge disabled). Once charge is enabled, the
device may initiate and complete a charging cycle with software control.

Hi,

BQ25898C will play as slave charger, so I will suggest to consider BQ25898D which support BC1.2 and non-standard adaptor, should include apple adaptor.

The difference is D version have D+ and D- pin to do BC1.2 detection.
