Hi,
what is the electrical characteristic of the EN input for the TPS54325.
impedance, current leak, what happens if floating, etc..
thank you
Philippe

I can tell you that the EN pin is active high. It must be pulled up to enable the device. I usually tie EN directly to Vin to enable. I may have some additional characteristic data fro the EN pin, but I do not hav access to it at this time. I am out of the office until Monday, so I may not reply further until then
I found the additional info. It relates to current of the EN pin.
For Vin = 12 V, the EN current will vary linearly with EN applied voltage. 0 uA at 0 V, 45 uA at the maximum voltage of 18
That is all the info that I have other than what is in the datasheet. Will that suffice?
Thank you John for your answer.
1. Is the device disabled when floating ?
2. can I use a mosfet P-channel, S=12V, D=EN, and I use the gate G to turn ON and OFF the TPS54325 ? any resistance needed at the EN pin ?
Thank you
philippe
The device is OFF when EN is floating. If you are using that FET to pull EN up to 12 V, then that will work. At 12 V, the IC will draw 20 uA into the EN pin. you may want to use a resistor from drain to ground so that ther is enough current in teh FET.
