BQ27542-G1: Load Mode

Part Number: BQ27542-G1

Hi Tiers.

When constant discharge current (about 250mA), SoC is correct working. (for example, SoC 10% at cell voltage 3.644V)

But when repeatedly discharging 150mA for 2 seconds and 15mA for 8 seconds, SoC is not correct at same cell voltage. (for example, SoC 20% at cell voltage 3.644V)

How can I fix it? Please help me.

I using Load Mode is 1.

At this fluctuating current discharge situation, What is right Load Mode?

And In Datasheet (6.3 Current/Power Profiles) it mentioned Load Mode 0 is default, But Table 16-3. In Data Flash Summary it mentioned Load Mode default value is 1.

Why different?

  • Hi
The differences is just an error. The default load mode is just what is currently on the gauge.
You cannot use voltage correlation to determine what the SOC ought to be because the cells will relax upwards after application of a current. The best way to evaluate accuracy of a gauge is to coulomb count the passed charge.
To ensure the gauge is accurate, you need to configure the gauge properly. This involves programming the chem id, configureing teh data flash and performing a learning cycle. see start guide below:
