The learn load is to allow the device learn the resistance of the cell to determine aging. Pls see the trm of the device.

Your voltage divider portion of the circuit into bat pin is not right. pls keep the lower leg at 16.5K as we have in the reference schematic of the EVM user guide. www.ti.com/.../sluubi1a.pdf

Hi Onyx,

May I ask EVM's R1/Q1/D1 are required for our application? Because our customer didn't put the circuit on this schematic.

This circuit is not required but it does have benefits. It is explained in this video: training.ti.com/bq34110-and-bq34210-q1-battery-gas-gauges-rarely-discharged-applications
