BQ4050: Coulomb Counter - datasheet

Part Number: BQ4050

Hi,

In section 6.14 in the datasheet its written that 1 lsb = 3.71uV.

Doesnt it mean that the minimum volage on the VSENSE is 3.71uV?

If it is right, it means that i can increase the sense resistor to ~100mOhm , so the current of 100uA (Discharge current) times 50mOhm would be 10uV.

If i increase the sense resistor to 1Ohm,  so the current of 100uA times 50mOhm would be 100uV. This voltage is less than  3.71uV...

Am i right?

Thanks,

Arkadi

  • Sorry, no. It's not. It just means that the minimum sensitivity after computations is 3.71uV. It's not directly converted. The gauge is capable of using a 1 to 3mOhm sense resistor. We advise sticking with the DS suggested values.
