TPS65185: TPS651851 V3P3 load switch question

Part Number: TPS65185

Dear Sir

We are working on a Eink panel PMU TPS651851 Smart phone, and customer measure afollowing V3P3 load switch sequence

It is strange that V3P3 have a short rise then discharge, then start. We had check that I2C write only one time and it is at the V3P3 stable situation

Could you please give some advice how to remove this rising.

Thanks

BR

Bruce

  • Bruce,
I have forwarded your question to our product specialist for this product. You should hear from him by this afternoon.
  • Hi Bruce,

I assume this only happens when the VIN3P3 is applied, is that correct?

Does this also happen after V3P3 is disconnected from any external loads?

    Best Regards,

    Rick S.

  • Hi Rick

    1. We measurement that picture when enable TPS651851, and VIN3.3V source is come from other power.

    2. We didn't connect to external load now because just measure the voltage, not connect to panel.

    3. Customer want V3P3 have power first before other power output.

Do you have any idea about this picture and have any advice to make V3P3 output first?

We are working to enable P3V3 first then enable other power now, but we are not so sure is this setting is correct!

    Thanks!

    BR

  • Hi Bruce,

To enable V3P3 first, PWRUP must be LOW, and WAKEUP must be HIGH to allow I2C commands.

In this state, the V3P3_EN bit in register 0x01h can be set to enable the load switch.

Afterwards PWRUP can be asserted to boot the remaining rails.

Will this work for their application?

    Best Regards,

    Rick S.
