Hello,

Need a solution for a boost converter which should operate on single phase rectified ac as well as three phase rectified ac. Came to know that UCC28180 is suitable for my operation but power of boost converter is large so I need to design a interleaved boost converter so looking for an IC which has features of UCC28180 and also suitable for two interleaved boost converter.

Hello Vicky,
First can you explain how you are going to provide power from the 3 phase supply ?
Please sketch the rectifier circuit for the pfc input.

Hellow Vicky,
The UCC28070 will not work in such an application.
The reason is the VINAC needs to be reset every AC input cycle. This means VINAC needs to fall below 0.7V.
This will not happen with a three phase rectifier because there is always a significant DC present even without a filter capacitor.

Hello Vicky,
The UCC28180 , UCC28019A UCC3817 ,UC2854B can all be used in this application.
The UCC28070 or UCC28070A are the only part that cannot be used.

Hello Vicky,
The UCC28220 is an interleaved dual pwm controller that can be used in a boost type application.
It is designed for DCDC applications.
3 phase applications almost always require power factor correction and the UCC28220 may not be suitable here..
Do you have any details of the design requirements for this product ?

Thank you for your reply.
Following are my design requirements for a boost converter:
Input to converter: 1-phase 200V to 500V rectified dc, 3-phase 200V to 500V rectified dc (boost converter should work on 1-phase as well as 3-phase rectified dc and provide power factor correction action while input is 1-phase rectified dc)
Output- 1. 750V,14A,10500W (when input is 1-phase 200V to 500V rectified dc or 3-phase 200V to < 330V rectified dc), 2. 750V,23A,17250W (when input is 3-phase 330V to 500V rectified dc)
Please suggest a pwm IC
