TPS62140: How to use DEF pin

Part Number: TPS62140

Hello,

There are three questions about how to use the DEF pin.

(1)We are considering using the TPS62140 at VOUT + 5% (DEF pin = 1).
For this pin, it is only necessary to input an H / L signal from a microcomputer etc., is there no need for external parts?

(2)How much does the accuracy of the output voltage change when setting DEF = 1 compared to when DEF = 0?

(3)Does the + 5% value itself vary (for example, there is a variation of 4.5% to 5.5%)?

Regards

  • Hi user,

There is no need for an external components for this DEF pin, you just need to make sure your input Voltage does not exceed 7-V for a High logic. There should be no change of output accuracy when DEF=1, as the D/S states the DEF pin is only used to margin the output voltage up by 5%.

Thank you for reaching out to us!

    Best Regards,

    Dorian
