LM3495EVAL: LM3495EVAL

Part Number: LM3495EVAL
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM3495

Hello

i am looking for a buck evaluation board which can work from 12v input to 3.3v output with 10A Iout

i tought the LM3495EVAL can help me but i just realized that the output is 1.2v.

Is it possible make any change on the board so i can have 3.3v output?

Thanks,

Adjagbe

  • Hello,

Yes you can change the RFB1=2.2k to get Vo=3.3V.  If you output current needs are less than 5A, I would recommend changing the inductor L1 to 2.2uH to keep ripple current ratio around 30-40%. Also now since the output voltage has changed you may need to modify RC1,CC1 and CC2  to optimize the loop.

    Regards,

    Mathew

  • Adjagbe,
The output voltage is controlled by the FB pin.
To change your output voltage you must change the FB resistor divider so that FB is 0.6V (LM3495 reference voltage) divided from Vout.

So to get 0.6V out of 3.3V, you can keep 10k bottom(FB to GND) feedback resistor and change top(VOUT to FB) resistor to 45k.
Then when VOUT is 3.3V, the resistor divider equation works out so that the FB voltage is 10k/(10k+45k) * 3.3V = 0.6V.

Let me know if this is not clear,
