TPS61021A: Selecting TPS61021A for energy harvesting from solar cell

Hi,

This is John from Qmax Systems,

We are designing a product - energy harvesting from solar cell. Our application requires a boost converter to convert 0.5V to 4.2V with an output current of min 100 mA. Do you think TPS61021A will support this application? If not, can you please suggest any other device for this application?

TPS61021A is fit for this application. But its minimum startup voltage is 0.9V.

Dear John,

I just noticed that the minimum OVP voltage of TPS61021A is :4.15V. so it be better they set the center output voltage at Vo=4.1V . if they set the Vout at 4.2V, the maximum output voltage may clamped at the 4.15V.
