BQ34Z100-G1: Temperature input best practice

Part Number: BQ34Z100-G1

Hi,

I have a 3p12s battery stack that I want to gauge with the bq34z200-g1.  It only has one temperature input, so I'm wondering how much the temperature input affects the gauging algorithm when it's possible that parts of my stack might be hotter than others.  Or are there are any best practices to use in providing an accurate read of temperature?

Thanks

  • Hi Jacob,

Please place the thermistor near the middle of the multi cell pack. Temperature plays a key role. If the delta temperature across the pack is large, place the thermistor on the colder section so the gauge will be more pessimistic to reduce the possibility of RSOC drops.

    Sincerely,
    Bryan Kahler
