Linux/BQ33100: question about document ‘’bq33100 Super Capacitor Manager-Top 13 Design Considerations’’

Part Number: BQ33100

Tool/software: Linux

Follow document ‘’bq33100 Super Capacitor Manager-Top 13 Design Considerations’’ item7 How to size the learning load?

  1. TI recommended that the learning current be high enough to provide at least a 25-mV drop, so ESR is 100 m ohm load current need 0.25A, but follow this example, I don’t know capacitor and load current relationship, why 2.5F capacitor need double load current?
  2. In our case, capacitor is 6.4F and ESR is 390 m ohm, I would like to calculation load current, please help to provide capacitor and load current relationship.
  3. If load current is too small, it will cause to learn process fail or time out (refer to the figure below).
