UC1843: shutdown using COMP

Part Number: UC1843

Hi team,

I understand that the device can be shutdown by pulling down the COMP voltage to lower than 2 diodes drops. But I wonder what is the specific voltage drop in this situation? because if I use a transistor to pull down the COMP, there might be some voltage cross the transistor and causing the shutdown to fail. Thanks!

George

  • Hey George,

I have found in the past that the values is approximately around 1.2 V, although this is not a guaranteed value.

I will say that I have heard of people using the method you are describing and have yet to hear complaints about the shutdown not happening due to the drop across the transistor.

    Thanks,

    Daniel
