Hi there,

I am looking for an LED driver which can drive the backlight of my display. The display light has a forward voltage of 2.4V and a current of 1 to 20mA based on how bright I want to drive it I was wondering if TI had any parts which could do this and allow me to change the current from a microcontroller.

I want the part to be small, low-power, and require minimal external components. My supply voltage is 3.3V and my logic voltage is 1.8V.

Could something like the LP5522 work?

Hi, Dan,

Do you only need to drive one LED?

If so, LP5522 is a good choice.

If not, let me know your LED configuration.

Yes, I am looking to only drive one LED (the display backlight) in a constant current mode.

Are there any better options? How does the LP5560 compare?

Hi, Dan,

LP5522 is also a constant current driver.

As you can see from their datasheet, the biggest difference between LP5522 and LP5560 is that LP5560 can adjust the current through CTRL and LP5522 needs Riset to set the current to a certain level.
