TPS2388: Sifos testing

Hi,

When testing Sifos, our customer found some error at the Sifos testing report, but after add cap on MOSFET side(as the picture below), this issue have been fixed.

May I know that what is the root cause?

Hi CT,

Can you send me the sifos test report? Normally, they don't need the cap on order to pass the sifos test. In addition, please make sure the customer is using the latest sifos firmware version to do the test. Thanks.

It's the same problem as the question:

In that discussion thread I mention that "And this issue has been fixed after add a cap on PSE output (C3/C4/C5/C6 at TPS2388EVM), why this can fix this issue? Could you help to explain it? Thank you." the C3/C4/C5/C6 are the cap I marked in red in this thread.

Hi C.T,

As I as before, our TPS2388EVM passed sifos test 100% and it is EA certified. It doesn't need these caps to pass sifos. There are some known issues of sifos capturing the right timing and perform the measurement in the old versions. Please ask the customer to update their sifos firmware to the latest one and these failures should go away. Thanks.
