BQ34Z100-G1: BQ34z100-G1 Impact temperature 0C to -20C Pulse discharge RSOC jump

Part Number: BQ34Z100-G1

rom-report.zip

Case:BQ34z100-G1 Impact temperature 0C to -20C Pulse discharge RSOC jump

I use BQ34z100-G1 for 8S1P battery project, CELL type Molicel INR18650M35A, and recommend chem ID 2144 according to "Simple Guide to Chemical ID Selection Tool (GPC)".

Product requirements 1.9S 3A 0.1S 10A pulse discharge, and impact temperature 0C to -20C environment.

According to "Golden GG Maker and Resistance Temperature Compensation Optimizer" The data of room temperature 25C pulse current 1.9S 3A 0.1S 10A discharge and impact temperature 0C to -20C pulse current 1.9S 3A 0.1S 10A discharge have been obtained and submitted to TI has been returned. The report file and test data is attached in zip. The problem now is RSOC jump in the impact temperature 0C to -20C pulse current discharge, please help to see if there is a good way to solve?

Thank you!

  • the SOC jump is not caused by improper settings, but rather the dynamic load. The only method that has been somewhat successful is adjusting the prediction engine.

I would suggest referencing the load mode/select parameters in the TRM.

There is a setting for User Rate. I would set the gauge for that option and use the "worst" case load profile to see if that makes it better.

We also have GPCRbTweak to help once you have tried the above.
  • Hi Kang Kang,
Thank you ! I will change load mode and select to "3" to test again. Need to reacquire data according to "Golden GG Maker and Resistance Temperature Compensation Optimizer"?
