SND9039 Power Button fail in Windows OC

Hi Sir,

Our customer used the PMIC SND9039 on IPC,

But they are have one issue is Power Button fail in Windows OC, the issue is random not always can be Replication status.

Once it happens they are need used keyboard/mouse to restart Windows, But this issue always exist, unless remove the Battery or Remove All power.

If Power Button fail, DOS mode is Power Button function is OK. but enter windows Power Button also fail.

Do you hve any suggest can be share for me?

Or SND9039 any Register setting about this issue?

Hi Hugo,

The power button is an edge trigger input with 30mS debounce to transition in and out of Mechanical Off state. The power-up and power down time is set by register 0x10.
Seems to me that's a timing issue in your system, try to change power button up/down time, removing the battery will override power button function

Thanks for your suggest,

we are see the datasheet is show the 0x10 Default=0110,

is this increase or decrease value power button up/down time solve this issue?

Hi Hugo,

Hard to say since this is a firmware issue not a hardware one. The power button timing is programmable to accommodate different firmware needs. My suggestion is to monitor SND9039 control inputs when this issue happened to find out what's needed: increase or decrease the power button timing.

Does SN9039 have register can be Enable & Disable Power Button function?

Customer doubt SND9039 lose the function.

Hi Hugo,

Based on customer description power button work under DOS but failed under Windows.
Power button state can monitor:
1) register 1 to 3 : The power button IRQ needs to be unmasked in order to monitor it
2) register12: reports the source of PMIC internal state change
