TPS3619-33-EP: Battery switch without holding MCU in reset

Part Number: TPS3619-33-EP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS3620-33-EP,

Hello,

I am interested in using the TPS3619-33-EP or TPS3620-33-EP as a battery backup IC. However, my idea was to connect the RESET output to a GPIO to indicate battery mode rather than using it to hold the microcontroller in reset. As long as the battery current draw is kept low enough, this should be fine, right?

Additionally, is the PFI/PFO comparator active when the chip runs off battery power? Or is that only operation when running on VDD?
