BQ4050EVM-561: Do we need driver to do the integration of a BQ4050 in Windows 10

We have multiple people using bqstudio on windows 10 here at TI and it works just fine. I would recommend installing as an admin on your computer and then restart it.

OK. I understand that i need to be more precise with my question.

I connect the EVM to our own windows system using SMB.
So I expect to see the battery detected by windows and install as a regular battery with information such as PS plugged, or system running on battery, or alert about low power on battery. You see ?

My question is not relative with BQstudio but with the use of a BQ4050 architecture and the windows Power management.
Is it more clear now ?

thanks for your answer.

The problem here is if we have some input for Gilles about the integration of the BQ4050 in Windows.

Basically he is developing a product based on a Intel I3 processor and he is running Windows 10 IOT Enterprise.

As the BQ4050 is Windows BTP compatible, he expects to see the Battery in the 'device manager' of Windows such as in his laptop. Please see below:

In  product , they don't have any support of Battery in the device manager. BQ4050 is connected to the processor using SMB. and they are able to read and write BQ4050 register under Windows. So they know that the BQ is there.

so how to integrate BQ4050 in a windows environment? do you have input or suggestions for that?

In that case, why do you mention 'Supports Battery Trip Point (BTP) Function for
Windows® Integration' in your specification ?
