BQ25895: what's Vsys when battery is absent

Part Number: BQ25895

Hi,

my customer needs Vsys to be a constant voltage above 3.8V when battery is absent.

Because SYS is connected to motor driver and 4g module directly.

But it seems that Vsys is changing from 3.65V to 4.4V when VBAT is absent.

Is it possible that we turn off the BATFET and set REG03[3:1]=111 to meet the requirement?

  • Hi,

If there is no battery, you should disable charger to switch control loop to system side.

And it should be no problem to change SYS_MIN from 3.5V (default) to 3.7V. But 3.8V can't achieve.

And when battery is plug in, it is better to switch SYS_MIN from 3.7V to 3.5V for thermal concern.

    Thanks
