BQ2970: Clarification of '0-V charge function'...

Part Number: BQ2970

Support,

I am looking for confirmation that the bq29700 prevents charging below 0.75V, is that an accurate interpretation of the specification?

Table 7.5 (DC Characteristics) of the datasheet specifies 0-V battery charge function & 0-V battery charge inhibit function

Section 9.4.7 (0-V Charging Inhibit Function) of the datasheet details the charging inhibit function.

What is 'V0CHG' (Table 7.5)? Is it the voltage that charging is allowed after it has been disallowed at <0.75V, a ‘hysteresis’ of sorts?

Please confirm:

  • Battery voltage drops below 0.75V -> bq29700 disallows charging
  • Battery rises above 1.7V (externally charged) -> bq29700 allows charging

Thanks.
