LM5085: "quickstart file" vs calculations based on datasheet of LM5085

Part Number: LM5085

Hi,

In this post

I asked question about difference in calculations between "quickstart file" and equations from LM5085 datasheet. So far no answer but post has been locked and marked as "resolved". Does anyone know why quickstart file use different equations than these form datasheet and which one is correct? I'm going to send my design to production and so far I'm not sure if it is correct or not.

Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Hello Tadeusz,

Designing a buck has many approaches and assumptions. And variations exists depending on the approach, its true to say the Product Datasheet equations are not exactly the same as the calculator spreadsheet, but that does by no means, mean there is an error. Neither one is wrong. I believe your schematic was reviewed by the product applications engineer. If you have any further questions or concerns that are more specific relating to your design please feel free to reopen thread to discuss?

    Thanks.

    hope this helps?
