I'm currently working on my final project. We intend to use BQ34Z100-G1 for our battery management system for Lead-Acid Battery, so we bought a BQ34Z100EVM and EV2400 to learn how to configure it. Few days ago, both worked well. The auto detect worked, it can measure voltage but incorrect then we did the voltage and current calibration, the calibration successed as the measured voltage accurate. Then we moved to the learning cycle. We're using Panasonic LC-V127R2NA1 ( 12 V, 7.2 Ah ) and the learning cycle worked fine. We did all of these steps before I chose the chemical ID, so it's still 3 series ( 12 V ) Li-Ion by default.
Bad things happened this afternoon. We tried to move from Lead-Acid to Li-Ion, just to make sure the SoC calculation is correct since Lead-Acid and Li-Ion behaves differently. We used HT Li-Ion ICR18650T ( 3.7 V, 220 mAh ) in 3 series with actual voltage 11.57 V. Once we plugged the battery at BAT port, all the LED lights up ( not just blinking ), and the measured voltage in the bqStudio was 0 mV and SoC was not measured. We've tried to reinstall the bqStudio ( 1.3.86 version ), install the FW update, we also use three different PCs ( all of them running Windows 10 ) . The bqStudio on three different PCs don't detect the EVM ( Auto Detect Device : None ) and show same information.
Then we tried to measure the voltage on these pins ( when a 12.36 V Lead-Acid battery applied ):
- SDA : 3.5 V
- SCL : 3.5 V
- REGIN : 3.8 V
- BAT : 0
- VEN : 0 ( not even pulsing )
- REG25 : 0
- Vscale-HI : 0
- Vscale-LO : 0
The 10 LEDs are off ( and not even blinking when the battery being applied ), and it still undetected by the bqStudio..
What we have to do to fix this issue ?
