BQ25895: BQ25895

Part Number: BQ25895

HI, I am using BQ25895. I want enable Fast Charging mode. So I have set the ILIM resistor as 132E, so the current limit will be 2.69A. Where as when I start charging the input current is shown as 0.467A. By charger is capable enough to give the required Current. Do I need to anything on D+ and D- Pins. Without any host control I want to set the charging current to 2A.Any feedback in this regard will be helpful.

  • Hi Manasa,

If leave D+/D- floating, input current limit is set to 500mA. If you short D+/D- pins together, input current limit is set to the maximum (3.25A) but then limited by the ILIM pin resistor.

    Regards,
    Jeff
  • Hi, We have shorted D+ and D- pins together. But still I find the current is at 0.484A. The resistor at ILIM is set to 132E. So it must give 2.6A.
I using the standard evaluation board from TI. BQ25895EVM. Do I need to do any other extra thing.
  • Manasa,

What is the voltage at the VBUS pins? Is it drooping near the VINDPM threshold, which will also limit input current? What is the voltage at the BAT pin? Is it near the battery regulation voltage (default 4.2V) so that the charger is in constant voltage mode?

    Regards,
    Jeff
