BQ76930: Normal Mode to Ship Mode

Hi Team,

I understood that I can change the mode Normal -> Ship via I2C command. Is there any way to change this? e.g. pin configuration...

Hi,

The I2C command is the only recommended way to enter ship mode. A POR event will also cause the device to enter SHIP mode, but this is not recommended.

When using the BQ78350-R1 companion gauge with the BQ76930, there is also a timing based Shutdown option. The BQ78350-R1 can be programmed to send the Shutdown command after a set period of time of no communication on the SMBus.

Yamashita-san,

POR (cycling power) is not a recommended way to enter SHIP mode.
