Hello there,

We are looking for a solution to the following problem. We have two input source each rated at 12V. One is connected to a 12V battery (onboard) and other is connected to shore power which is 12 V DC as well. We are looking for a circuit to switch between these two sources. When the shore power is connected, we want onboard 12V to be disconnected from the system and reverse. The current consumption of the system is around 5 to 10 amps.

Any idea on this?

Hi Babak ,

Please refer TPS25942A. It can be used in Priority Power Multiplexing configuration as per Figure 79 in the datasheet.

Thanks for your reply Rakesh. Is there any other Priority Power Multiplexing ICs with higher current available? if not is it possible to have two of TPS25942A in order to get higher current? Thanks
