HI,

Refer to "SM3320-BATT-EV Charge Controller Reference Design", does TI has any reference design or product like this but in buck topology?

ps. no bqxxxx solution, need external MOSFET.

Hi C.T.,

This forum is primarily for BQXXXXX devices. The BQ24650 is a buck charge controller with external MOSFETs that is optimized for charging from a solar panel. The appnote www.ti.com/.../slva437a.pdf shows how to modify to charge a lead acid battery.

Hi Jeff,

1. If our application is for more high input voltage, then where I can modify? MOSFET and using regulator for VCC pin?

2. For higher battery voltage, then we can only consider C2000, am I right?

Hi C.T.,

Regarding 1, unfortunately, if the charger's VCC pin is below the battery voltage, the charger automatically enters sleep mode and stops charging. The BQ25713 is buck boost charger which might be able to be modified like you suggest. I suggest posting a separate forum post asking about the BQ25713. In addtion, I suggest you search the TI reference designs at www.ti.com/.../reference-designs.html.

Regarding 2, I am not familiar with the C2000 processors. I suggest posting in the processor forum.
