SM72445: What is the realistic maximum power that we could get from SM72445

What would be a realistic maximum power that  could achieve using the SM72445.

Scenario 1

Input 350W solar panel MPPT +- 37V MPPT current +-9 amps. Output 12V  @ 30Amps

Senario 2

Input 15V source (e.g charging car battery) Output 12V @ 40Amps

    Thanks for considering the device. The device is just a controller and the power level is mainly determined by the MOSFET drivers. The National Semi time the certified module SM3320 is 300W. it also supports Senario 2.

    Thanks for the answer. The reason that I ask is that there are normally practical limitations to a topology. E.g flyback normally less then 500W. If you try push the design you run into other problems e.g EMI etc.

    Other semiconductor suppliers may say practical limits are 25A out. If you want more, go to another topology or multiphase.

    Another question. What is the difference between SM72441 , SM72442 and SM72445?

    Sorry for the delay as I have been on a business trip. Sorry for misunderstood your max power level question. Basically this is a bridge type structure. If driver is strong enough and if you can find the inductor, it can support 1kW or higher.

    The major differences between the three devices:
    (1) SM72441 does not have panel mode, while the other two have.
    (2) SM72441 and SM72442 havefixed switching frequency. One is at 215kH and the other at 220kHz, while the SM72445 has three frequencies to program: 110, 135, 215 kHz.
