BQ24600: Charge-Circuit connected to Battery without Power-Supply

Hello,

can I disconnect the power-supply of my BQ24600-Standard-Circuit after charging, but leave the circuit connected to the battery?

Is there a additional protection nessessary?

    Yes you can disconnect the adapter with battery still connected. When adapter is removed, and battery is still connected, the VCC voltage will track with battery voltage - forward voltage drop of HSFET body diode. This means the IC will satisfy conditions to enter sleep mode: If the SRN voltage is greater than VCC, bq24600 enters a low-quiescent-current (<15 μA) SLEEP mode to minimize current drain from the battery. When you re-insert adapter, VCC voltage is greater than the SRN voltage, bq24600 exits the SLEEP mode. If all other conditions are met for charging, bq24600 then charges the battery. The input diode is used for reverse voltage protection for the VCC pin.
