BQ25700AEVM-732: Questions about BQ2570X Demo Edition

Part Number: BQ25700AEVM-732

Hello, I used your BQ2570X demo version, I have a question, what is the role of Q7? Can I get rid of Q7? If I only use the charging part, which P tube can be removed?

I have a question, how to calculate the current loop compensation and voltage loop compensation of BQ2570x?

  • Hello,

The role of Q7 is to act as a P-Ch. BATFET implement the NVDC architecture of the charge controller. Without this PFET, the system rail cannot be regulated to a higher voltage than the battery voltage, especially in the dead battery scenario. Without this, you cannot have an instant system on.

If you remove Q7, the charger could see some fault when charge is disabled or set to 0mA. Otherwise, you can refer to section 8.6.5.1 System Voltage Regulation for more details on removing this FET.

We do not provide more details about the loop compensation of the charger apart from the COMP1 and COMP2 network impedances.

    Regards,
