UCC21225A: How to use this for Vgs 7V max. GaN

Hi all,

You know that there are famous Vgs=max.7V GaNs.

How to use UCC21225A for this GaN?

Is there anything different UVLO?

    Thanks for your interest in UCC21225A. I work in the high power driver group, and can help you with your question.

    You are right that the rising UVLO (6.3V max) for this device is quite close to the Vgs=max.7V for enhancement mode GaN devices. You could try to damp the loop with more series resistance, and clamp using diodes, but it will still be very close.

    In this case, I might recommend a different part. UCC21220A has a slightly lower max UVLO rising threshold (5.9V). This is in the SOIC-16 (D) package and has slightly higher isolation ratings, but should operate very similarly to UCC21225A.

    What application are you designing for? Is the smaller package a requirement? What is the bus voltage of your application? We have dedicated GaN drivers which might be of interest depending on your application.

    You can see I need small package.

    Below 30W ACF GaN PD adapter.

    What is most small.

    It is ACF + UCC21225A + enhancement GaNs.

    If it's model volume is 100k/M, can TI make lower UVLO version of UCC21225A?

    Is isolation necessary for this application? We do have dedicated GaN drivers and GaN power stages with very small packages that might be of interest. What is the bus voltage and isolation requirement for this system?

    Can you please express your interest for a custom device to your local TI team?

    No need high isolation.

    Bus voltage is under 500VDC.

    So UCC2771x high voltage High-side and Low-side drier can be use ,

       if it's tr nad tf  are near to UCC27611

       if it have 5V LDO such as UCC27611

       if output drive Vcc is 5V such as UCC27611

    LMG341x also needs an isolator for this ACF circuit.

    From this April, there is no one who can understand HVP device in TIJ.
