BQ76940: temperature measurement

Part Number: BQ76940

Dear all:

I used TS2 and TS3 connected with 10K NTC for temperature detection, and the difference between the two registers was about 6c after the calculation.

When the temperature rises or falls at the same time, the two values also rise or fall at the same time.

The two NTCS are switched and the temperature remains the same, but the difference remains.

But if you measure the internal temperature instead (TEMP_SEL=0), the two values are not far apart.

Could you please give me some Suggestions for correction?

In addition, as for the reading of CC, if CC_EN =1 and CC_ONESHOT=0, should I clear the 0 of CC_READY when I read CC?

If 0 is cleared, is it 250ms reset 1 after reading by BQ76940?

  • Hi Timsen,

Are there any differences in the way the NTCs are connected? Are you following the example schematic in the datasheet? Or are you using an EVM?

The CC_READY bit does not have to be cleared, but it is best to clear it. The ALERT pin will stay high until CC_READY is cleared which will cause the device to draw extra current.

    Best regards,
    Matt
