UCC28C41: Do you have any schematic of short circuit protection for UCC28C41?

Hello guys,

One of my customers is evaluating UCC28C41 on their own board using like Figure 31, Typical Application Design Schematic in the device datasheet(SLUS458G).

The device evaluation is going well. But they want to add a short circuit protection to the UCC28C41 evaluation circuit.

Could you please tell me any example of a short circuit protection for the customer?

Hello Kazuya,

They should not need a short circuit protection because the UCC28C41 has a peak current mode control and operates in fixed frequency, they can set the maximum current limit based on the RCS value and the power across the inductor will be limited by 1/2L*Ipk^2*Fsw.
