BQ51050B: Reference Design EN2 Pin confusion

Part Number: BQ51050B

Dear Support

I am planning to use BQ51050B as wireless receiver ONLY (Not wall adaptor)

For EN2 pin (in pinouts description) The Data sheet says that:

Used to set priority between wireless power and wired power. EN2 low enables wired charging
source if AD input voltage is present. EN2 high disables wired charging source and wireless power
is enabled if present.

But then on reference schematic (TIDA00669), it shows EN2 pins is pulled LOW where as its AD pins is also connected to 0V.

Looking at the reference schematic, it seems like it is designed to work as WIRELESS only and NOT the Mains Adaptor compatible. Then Why is EN2 pin connected to LOW (0V)?

If it needs to be connected to HIGH then which pin / voltage?

Kind Regards

NS

  • Hello
Thanks for posting your question to the forum, sorry for the confusion.
For a wireless power only solution, connect AD and EN2 low, ground. AD could remain open but I do not recommend it.

Pull EN2 high and connect AD to USB input if both wired and wireless will be used. Pull EN2 to greater than 1.3V, max is 7V.
