LM5034: Continuous current driven IC and forward synchronization recommendation

Part Number: LM5034
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5045, UCC39002

Use LM5034 as power supply module Input 40 / 72VDC, Output 12V 1600W isolation,Continuous current driven IC and forward synchronization recommendation

  • Hello user1932012,
The LM5034 is an interleaved active clamp forward controller and while it may theoretically be possible to design a 1600W power supply with this topology ,there is probably better options that you should evaluate.
I recommend that you consider using the LM5045 full bridge controller in a 530W module. You can parallel 3 of these modules with the UCC39002 load sharing current controllers to give you the 1600W load requirement.
The LM5045 full bridge will give you more manageable magnetics and lower peak currents than the forward topology and has been designed for direct connection to a 100Vdc input. It also can be synchronized to an external clock and the modules can be interleaved if necessary.

    Regards
