TPS659039-Q1: Can TPS659039-Q1 only be powered by the 5V rail?

Part Number: TPS659039-Q1

Dear,

Can you please help to check if TPS659039-Q1 can be powered by a single voltage rail(5V or 3.3V)? Any risks?

Or it needs to be powered by both 3.3V and 5V?

Thanks.

  • Hi Ted,

According to User Guide, device can be powered by one voltage by setting the power supply to a voltage between 3.135 V and 5.25 V. But I have forwarded to your question to responsible applications engineer to get more detailed answer.

Please expect to short delay to her answer, since she will be out of the office until Apr 9th, thank you

  • Ted,

For this OTP(O9039A387...) you could power the whole device using 5V. Since some of the outputs are 3.3V, I would not recommend going below ~3.8V to ensure all rails regulate properly.

    Thanks,
    Nastasha
