Level-3-260C-168HR, if exceed 168 hours, what will happen ? I encountered one strange thing(no find SMT fault by X-RAY and Slice Board detection,but solved after re-soldered by hand)
My one customer used one Ti IC, first SMT 50pcs,(IC was from TI free sample) nearly have half of IC cann't work normal, we debug it with TI FAE long time,no find obvious incorrect. finnally, we re-soldered IC by hand, then IC work normal, all things work normal, and we continued resoldered 7pcs IC,all work normal,so we think it maybe caused by Virtual welding or something wrong with SMT.
The SMT Foundry no find any soldering problem by X-RAY and slice board detection ,and SMT foundry repair and re-soldered the IC,but also find some IC work abnormal,Fault phenomenon is the same as the problem we solved by re-soldering by hand, some IC test pass in SMT foundry,but happen the same fault on end customer side.
we and customer all agreed TI IC is OK, it maybe have some more factors we ingnored(expect Virtual welding or something wrong with SMT ) , do you have any comments? thanks
by the way, I find this IC's MSL:Level-3-260C-168HR , so if the Floor Life exceed 168 hours, did it could cause this ? we send the IC to SMT Foundry many days ahead of SMT.
