Linux/TPS65217: TPS65217

Part Number: TPS65217
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM3358,

Tool/software: Linux

Hi,

Recently  I copy the schematic of AM3358 Beagle Bone,  When power up , the device may boot failed with the possibility of 1% , but if I  connect the TX pin of Uart to the external debugging assistant,  the phenomenon disappear. I have no Lion battery. And the attachment is a part of this schematic.

   Thanks for your help.

  • Hello, I support the TPS65217 PMIC.

I do not know why connecting the TX pin of Uart to the external debugging assistant would resolve the problem.

Let me re-assign this to the processor team briefly, and maybe they will provide some insight.
  • Please help us better understand your failed boot condition. Does the PMIC turn on and then off? Does the PMIC power on then get no response from the processor? To guarantee the debug process goes smoothly I recommend setting up a controlled test area where you can log uart output and automate the power cycling of your boards.
