Hi Ti team,

Could you pls help us check if BQ25601 have default OVP is 14V,my input is 12V. thanks!

Hi Jimmy,

The default input OVP setting at POR is 6.5 V, but you can change this to 14 V by writing '11' to REG06 bits [7:6].

Hi Angelo,

Input 12V,in default ovp 6.5v, battery no power. that ic can be in ovp. how to reg it.

Hi Jimmy,

I'm not sure I understand your question. Are you asking how to exit ACOV?

You can set the input OVP register setting to 14 V. Once you've done that, then the device will automatically resume normal operation since 12 V is below the input OVP threshold, as described in Section 8.3.10.1.1.1 of the datasheet.

Sorry for this,

I mean that when BQ25601 input 12VDC, default OVP is 6.5V,then BQ25601 can be in OVP state. the processor host don't be start up by no power supply, unable to write register for bq25601

My understanding of your issue is that you need to set the ACOV threshold to 14 V without host control in case there's no power supply to start up the processor. Is this correct?

Unfortunately, there is no way to set the BQ25601's default ACOV threshold to 14 V. If this is your requirement, then I would recommend the BQ25606 instead. The BQ25606 is a standalone charger, and the ACOV threshold is 14 V.

Could you pls help us check that the BQ25606 discharger OCP is below above 6A?

How much is the TYP OCP of discharger? thanks!

Hi Jimmy,

The typical value for IBATFET_OCP is around 7 A. I tested this on an EVM and found that the threshold was 6.7 A.
