I have two questions about soft start of TPS56x219A.

-If SS terminal is open, can this device output Vout?

-Could you tell me the soft start capacitor's min/max value?

No, it could not output since it will trip OC and device will be in hiccup mode all the time.

There is no exact min/max value for SS cap. The key is to get a reasonable soft start time which will not trigger OC. Usually from customer feedback, 1ms-10ms soft start time is mostly considered. Thanks!

Please let me ask you in detail operating at SS=open.
Is "OC" "Over Current"?
If this understanding is correct, does this device operate over current limit when SS terminal is open?

Hi Takahiko-san,

Yes, OC means overcurrent. The device will monitor OC during soft start. So no matter SS is open or not, the OC will work during soft start. Thanks!
