Hi friends,
I am looking for a perfect BMS IC for a Lithium Polymer battery.
Can anyone help me to find the same.
The system should not power the load when it has reached its minimum recoverable voltage (ie 2.7 for Li Po battery).
any help from you is appreciated.

Are you referring to a 1s?
Are you looking for a charger, a gauge, a protection IC, all the above?

It should be a single cell battery charger, with under voltage lookout.

Shibin,

What is the your input voltage source, battery capacity or desired maximum charge current? Do you have host and software to control the charger or do you want resistor programmable standalone charger?

Hi Jeff F,
The input is from a power adapter of 5V 1A, and I don't think there is a need for a host to control the charging and all those factors.
Some chip is available in the market with I2C. My only need is a pure BMS with overvoltage and UVLO protection, Temperature monitoring, load sharing.
Can anyone explain the need for I2C programming in such chip and how it is done?

Hi Shibin,

I2C charger is not required but gives you more control of charging and more status/fault information.

With 1A input current, you would easily use a linear charger like BQ24040 or BQ24072 if you need power path. Alternatively, if you want higher efficiency when the battery is deeply discharged, I recommend BQ25606.
