LM5010: When using LM5010 to do"input=52V, output=24V", the inductance makes a sound.

Part Number: LM5010

Hi team,

My customer use LM5010, when input=52V, output=5V, it work well.

But when input=52V, output=24V, the inductance makes a sound, teh inductance is 220uH, shown in below SCH and layput. Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks!

  • Eggsy ,

It looks like the switching is not stable in the application . You can verify the same my probing the switch node .

There are many Issues with the layout . Critical Input di/dt loop , output loop as well as ripple injection circuit placement and layout needs to be modified .

Please refer to below layout example from datasheet .

Further customer can optimize the ripple injection circuit to obtain stable switching . Here is App note : http://www.ti.com/lit/an/snva166a/snva166a.pdf
