LM317A: Using ceramic capacitor of LM317A

Hi

I got a question about LM317A from my customer.
If I use ceramic capacitor with LM317A, could I use it with using resister in series?

    Hi Yokota,

    You can add ESR by adding an external resistor if you desire; however, please note that LM317A does not require an output resistor for stability. As the datasheet mentions in section 8.4.1 External Capacitors, the solid tantalum capacitors were recommended for this family due to how the capacitance changes in a ceramic capacitor over frequency.
