BQ76940: About the Rsns

Part Number: BQ76940

Dear all,

Please help to review the schematic in attachment.

If I don't need overcurrent in discharger and short current in discharger. Can I not use the Rsns?

And it don't need to charge or discharge FET.Is this circuit correct?

  • Hi Vickers,
If you don't need overcurrent or current measurement you do not need a sense resistor, the bq76940 SRP and SRN can be connected to GND (VSS) with resistors or directly. In operation do not enable the CC to reduce current. The overcurrent circuit still exists in the part, so the system software should still respond to them. With the SRx inputs shorted the overcurrent faults set but if REGSRC is switched for any reason a fault can be shown when power is restored.
DSG and CHG are outputs and could be left open. R75 and R76 are OK, they won't draw current if the outputs are not enabled.
