CCS/BQ27750: Code Composer Studio™ forum

Part Number: BQ27750

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi TI team

I am using the IC for the BQ27750, and I have a problem with the calculation of the low temperature capacity of the battery.

ChemID has no low temperature. We tried to calculate a gg file by means of GPC RB. After the application, a condition occurs. The FCC is at -7 °C and is lowered from 2900 mAh to 100 mAh. This is the battery capacity. Unreasonable, I would like to ask if there is any solution to this problem.

Thank you!!

  • hi Chris

Your question is vague. Did you run the gpcrb tool and then program the results sent back on the gauge? Did you program the temp k and temp a ( trise and t time constant) which the tool returned on the gauge? Did you perform a learning cycle after you performed the rbtweak and programmed the values on the device?

You need to do the following.
-Program the chemdat file returned by the tool on the gauge.
-program the trise and ttime constant in temp a and temp k values.
    -Perform a learning cycle.
-Then do cold temp test to verify it works

    thanks

  • hi Onyx :

Our battery pack capacity is 3100mah.
The demand is discharged at -17 degrees c.
So we did gpc rb table .
Also got the gpc rb table parameter .

    We programmed srec to bq27750
As a result, when the battery is at -7 degrees C,
FCC jumped from 2920mah to 100mah
To cause a short discharge time, the RSOC immediately jumps to 0%.

We have followed the steps to get GPC RB,
However, the capacity is still not accurate at low temperatures.
    What is the problem?

  • Hi Chris
After you get the gpcrb values.
Did you program the trise and ttime constant? did you redo your learning? like i mentioned above?

    thanks
