Software Problems of BQ76930 Evaluation Board

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ76930, EV2400

Hello, I bought the BQ76930 evaluation board and matching EV2400. I encountered some problems when using it. In the middle of these high and low position instructions, it is said that it can manually set high and low position. But when we connected the battery to the experiment, after a low position, it quickly refreshed its original high position, unable to achieve manual positioning. Then we put a battery off some electricity, and he should be balanced, but the software still didn't respond, and he didn't help us balance. So this software can only read but not write?

  • Hi Juan,
The software can read or write. The data boxes in the register bit field can be used to enter data if scan is stopped. Double click on the data value and enter the new value, press enter. The value should be written.
If scan is running it is typical to have the scan refresh the registers while you are trying to change them with the data disappearing, a result very much like you describe. I am seldom successful. You can change the scan time to allow more time to write, but it is better to stop scan for the write, use the radio buttons at the top for the few supported functions, or the register write tool above the section you have pictured. If you are balancing cells manually you will want scan running to watch the voltages. The bq76930 does not know when the cells are balanced or stop balancing automatically.
